The problem: The AN-10 main spar bolts sit so close to the G200 fuselage walls that it's impossible to get a socket on the nuts. This means a lot of tedious tightening using an open-ended wrench. (I'm not sure if the 202 has the same problem.) The solution: NAS1291-10 self-locking nuts. These mil-spec parts have a smaller head and a built-in washer. Although expensive at about $22 each, they are well worth the money in my humble opinion. Available from Pegasus Auto Racing among others.
Bolts
Hiya,
Nice info - and do you have the part number for the main spar bolts?
Best, Lars
Re: Bolts
My spar bushings were a little worn, so I installed AN180-50 or -51 "close tolerance" bolts, 5/8" diameter, 5.410" and 5.535" overall length respectively. I obtained them from http://www.bandbaircraftsupplies.com/ for about $10 each.
